The Sea Shell Sisters
It was a stormy March day when the sea shell sisters got lost at land…
What a funny place for the sea shell sisters to be when the ocean felt so inviting and warm? The sea shell sisters were confused they couldn’t see each other on the sea side shore.
But what was awfully strange, was that the sea shell sisters could hear each other, even though they couldn’t see each other.
The tide goes out in the morning. The sun beacons down. They are safe.
In the day, the crabs, the jellyfish, the paw patters, the foot steps, the bird flutters, all potter on by.
They say good morning and good afternoon to the sea shell sisters and the sea shell sisters wave back. They listen together to life on earth and smile a sweet smile to one another, even though they are last at land.
The sea shell sisters talk to each another from a mile away.
The sea shell sisters mother, ‘Mother ocean’ watches over them, every moment of the day. As the tide rolls in at night, mother ocean tucks the sea shells into their bed, into a sweet and soulful slumber on the sand.
And as Mother Ocean becomes hazy to the sea shells, and her blue and glimmer complexion deepens, the sea shell sisters aren’t afraid. And, as the sea shells prepare to sleep sweetly in the land of love, the sea shell sisters cry:
“But Mummy Ocean, when can we go back to the sea?”
“When the tide is right and I can hold you tight” gently whispered Mummy Ocean.
“Okay” whispered the sea shell sisters.
“Please May you turn the lights out Mummy Ocean?”
And so Mother Ocean sent her daily affirmation to the sun, and the moon and the stars, and they wrapped their arms around each other in the sky.
The moon told the stars to go off to sleep, and so the stars slept and sparkled all through the night. And so did the sea shell sisters.
In the glow of the morning, Mother Ocean swept the waves onto the sea shore to wake up the sea shell sisters.
In the peace of the sea shell sisters and the deep blue sea, “you can’t be lonely when you’ve got me” cooed Mother Ocean.
Her daily reminder nurtured the sea shell sisters into the day. In the late morning on the sea shore, the sun rose warmly, hopefully, and the sea shells basked in the soothing light. The moon had woken up the sun, and the stars slept in. Some time after, the crabs tik toed away from the sea shells and into the sea, and the sea shell sisters felt Mother Ocean’s touch.
Their bed of sand felt softer, and surged their energy to rise. For once, it seemed the Earths children, like the stars and the crabs and the sand, all knew what to do. The sea shell sisters looked comfortably confused, and mother ocean cooed, her soft coo:
“Well my dears the time is right, and I can hold you tight. Have fun at sea.”
So the sea shells smiled a lovely smile, a wonderful smile, and hugged mother ocean. And she, In turn, embraced them, as they fell into their hug, in the deep blue ocean.
And the sea did a dance and the sea shore cheered “you can’t be lonely when you’ve got me.”
Said the seashore sisters to one another.
And away they swam into the Deep Blue Sea.
